Criticizing Photographs
6 photos

Descriptive
This is an example of a birth certificate. This is descriptive because the whole purpose of the photo is to provide documentation and information on someone.

Explanatory
This photo I took is explanatory because my friend Sayan is showing the proper technique for holding a pull up at 90 degrees. This was taken at the climbing wall and is a common exercise we do for climbing endurance.

Interpretive
This anonymous image I found online depicts a young boy resting his feet on a man below him. I chose this for my interpretive image because I did not quite understand it myself, but I know that it can be interpreted many ways.

Aesthetically Evaluative
This photo I took to fit in the aesthetically evaluative category because it makes me happy. I was walking by the creek and the fallen leaves look so fall and the pink flowers provide some life and color.

Ethically Evaluative
I chose this photo to be ethically evaluative because many men are threatened by feminism, and consider themselves real manly men. This is controversial and proposes that real men are instead feminists.

Theoretical
This image I took sitting in classes represents theoretical because what could have been a boring photo is made interesting with the corners of the carpet that do not line up. I am hoping this appears like a "glitch" or edited image and not boring. For me it differs each time I look at it.
